This is a busker I photographed in Whitby recently.
People give money to listen to the chap moaning about the weather and other such things so enjoyed by English folk.
Not so scary as the nearby Dracula Experience, but visitors seem to like it.
The seaside experience has become more sophisticated since I was a lad, though some simple things will always be delighted in, like fish and chips, donkeys, and sugary rock.
